You are waiting for your bags to turn up on the carousel and hey, why not get a marriage license at the same time. You can in Sin City.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, passengers arriving at Las Vegas McCarran International Airport can now apply for a marriage license before leaving the airport.
The Clark County Marriage License Bureau has set up a temporary kiosk in the baggage terminal where love birds can obtain their marriage certificate.
It is not an actual wedding ceremony and no vows are exchanged but you can party later – it’s just a matter of convenience.
Clark County has been dubbed the wedding capital of the world, issuing the most marriage licenses throughout the year in the U.S. – around 80,000 a year.
One couple, Christie Estrada and Hector Castaneda, told Fox News:
We were just walking, we were going to get a taxi and we saw the sign. It saved us a lot of time so we can go gamble.
The Clark County Clerk’s Office will keep the office open from Feb. 9 to 17 so that couples get marriage licenses during the Valentine’s Day, President’s Day and Chinese New Year holidays.
County Clerk Lynn Goya said:
The days around Valentine’s Day and the Presidents’ Day weekend are always some of our busiest. This pop-up marriage license office will make it easier for couples flying here to pick up a marriage license.
The office will be located in the baggage claim area in Terminal 1. It will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Licenses cost $77.
Bets are that getting married doesn’t get more convenient than this.
